Virus

I think I have a virus on my Mac. A pop up that says “low on memory please close a few applications” I was wondering if this is normal or if it actually could be a virus. If so, how should I handle this situation?

Malware on my Mac I am seeing a window repeatedly warning that the memory on your Mac is low and to close applications to help the problem. When I do a Google search the results switch me to the Yahoo search engine. I suspect malware is the problem. Any suggestions. I've been told Malwarebytes is trusted protection. Thanks.
