Boot Time very long since update to big sur

iMac 27” 5k retina 1t fusion drive now has very slow boot up since upgrade to Big Sur

iMac 27″, macOS 11.2

Hi Jack,


I have tried your suggestions with no change, I have now installed Big Sur on an external SSD drive and booting time now reduced from almost 5 min. down to 37 seconds, I think it may be due to the fusion drive not having enough SSD space for Big Sur so it is split between SSD an Mechanical drive indicated by a quick first 1/3 of startup bar progress is quick and the balance of approximately 4 min for the remaining 2/3 including logon.
