How to move equation box

When typing in an equation using the editor, the box is very annoyingly right in the middle of the screen. I know how to resize it, but is there any way to move the box? It used to be at the top of the screen, which was much less obtrusive, but now it is super frustrating. If there's no way to move it, there definitely should be.

Hi Kevin,

Assuming you mean the Formula Editor, you can move it quite easily.

Open the editor to edit a formula by double clicking the cell, or to enter formul be clicking once on the cell, then typing =.

To move the editor, click and hold to the left (or right of the fx label on the left of the editor, then drag it to where you want it.

Barry

Inserted equations from the equation editor will be inserted inline immediately following the text insertion beam, or left-aligned if not following text. Otherwise, the equation will only be center page if that alignment is set before or after the equation is entered.

I don't mean the Formula Editor. In Pages, when I hit command+option+e, or Insert->Equation..., a box appears in the middle of the screen that has "Edit Equation" at the top and allows me to insert equations using LaTeX. I can resize that box, but I can't move it from the center of the screen, where it blocks my view of the document I'm working on. Is there a way to move that box?

Thank you

There is no moving the Edit Equation box from its initial launch position over your document. All you can do is enter and insert your equation or using the ESC key, dismiss the panel.

You can send feedback to the Pages Product team from its application menu, about adding a feature that allows one to move the Edit Equation panel. I checked if any modifier keys would allow one to move it and that was nope.

In the meanwhile, you can open a separate Pages document where you insert your equations, and then copy/paste them into your main document without the distraction of the Edit Equation panel disturbing your productivity.
