I am trying to install and use a 2020 TurboTax product on my mid-2012 MacBook Pro but the install will not go through because it says I need to be running a OSX of 10.14 or higher. I am currently running High Sierra OSX 10.13.6. Can I still upgrade to a newer OSX so that I can install TurboTax?

If you're trying to decide between those two, click on 'check your applications for compatibility' above; in particular, 32-bit software will run in Mojave but not Catalina.
If you're looking for an OS version between them, there isn't one.
