Hi,

Does anyone know how to MOVE photos from the 'Recents' folder to another folder.

Thanks,

Oisín.

You cannot move to another Album. However, you can add to another album. Please note that adding does not duplicate the Photos instead only the link is added. If you delete from one album it is deleted from all including Recents.

lacking basic functionality that has been available in every professional (and amateur) OS since the 1960's.

Please reference a photo app from the 60's that allowed moving photos from one folder to another.

Most modern and professional photo management apps these days do the same as Apple does.

They allow "virtual" copies where the actual photo stays in one location on your computer, but allows you to create very small virtual copies for purposes of organizing photos in to albums, collections etc. Keywords (or color tagging, labels etc.) are more effective to organize photos than folders. One photo can be placed in dozens of virtual albums without taking up much space.

When you edit a photo in an Apple photo app, the original file is not edited, but a small text (sidecar) file is made holding the edits and applied to the original photo when you view it. Again, very efficient as you don't have to manage multiple full sized copies of photos.

It's your mindset that is stuck in the 60s, not Apple's.

All full sized iOS photos "live" in one large album called All Photos. When you assign a photo to an album, a very small virtual copy is made and placed in the album. The original stays behind.

If you need the ability to actually move the file itself, you need another app.

As I suspected, thanks for the confirmation.

So basically this is yet another demonstration of what a useless piece of **** an iPhone is; iOS, lacking basic functionality that has been available in every professional (and amateur) OS since the 1960's.

Who knows, maybe if they work really hard on it the Apple 'engineers' might manage to 'invent' the technology to move a file from one folder to another by 2060, only a century later than every other operating system. I really don't see why Apple can't afford to hire some competent software engineers and release products with a modern, usable UX/UI

Absolute *****.

Also amusing that they HAVE added the technology to these forums to blank out profanities with *****, an implicit admission that they know how bad their products are and therefore anticipate a forum jammed with expletives I guess. They should really change their corporate motto to something like:

Apple, we aim low.
