I updated my mac mini to Catalina. I already had Iphoto and Photo on before I updated. I was using Iphoto because I liked it more. After the update I can no longer access my Iphotos. Will they have all been automatically transferred to Photos?

Launch Photos with the Option key held down, click on Other Library, and choose the iPhoto library. Photos will have imported the iPhoto library automatically the first time it was run, but not updates to it.

When I click to import photos to Photo my Iphoto library is no longer there.
You don't import the library; you convert it as described above or by dragging it to the Photos icon in the Dock. Merging them is a separate process not doable before converting it.
