I cannot DL the newest update Big Sur, every time I try it times out when installing the update. I checked and my computer has enough storage for the update. What am I doing wrong?

i suggest that it is timing out because you are using Wi-Fi which is too slow for these very large files. This is not uncommon. Try using a direct wired Ethernet connection, which will be much faster.

Are you trying to download he standalone installer or via SWUpdate?
Don't use FireFox or WaterFox for this link. it'll mess it up...

Enough storage being 35.5 GB of available storage as reported by Available when performing a Get Info of your Macintosh HD Desktop icon? And from Catalina, the terminology is upgrade, and the download for Big Sur should come from the Mac App Store.
