How do I set Excel as the app to open .csv? I do not use Numbers.

how do i stop the preferred download to Numbers and switch to download csv files to excel instead? whenever I download a csv file it opens in Numbers. whenever i open an email address online, it opens in Mail. I prefer Microsoft office apps. how do I change this preference?

Do a Get Info on an .csv file. CMD+i keys, then 2/3rds the way down look forOpen With..., select the Excel App & click on the Change All button.
