Does AirTag work with iPhone X and cat collars?

e.g.

When moved, any AirTag separated for a period of time from the person who registered it will make a sound to alert those nearby.

So it sounds like an Airtag might start beeping if your cat is at the end of the backyard and you're in the house. I don't know how loud it is.

Thanks that really helps , my cats never stray from the area but once one of my cats got stuck in a bush & couldn’t find her for 24hours & she was still in the area & a airtag would help if she did it again or they accidentally strayed further & someone found them 😊

Thanks , my cats are in & out of the house ever 5-10mins & only spend a maximum of a hour & half out in total & just want to stay indoors for the rest of the day , just want something that will locate them if they accidentally strayed or got stuck in a bush/shed in the area & couldn’t get out & I can easily go out & find them etc

I was wondering the same thing but can’t find anything on the Apple site if it will work ok when attached to a cat collar 😞 would be good in case my cats go missing

As long as your cat does not stray more than about 40 feet away it will locate the animal or if you put the cat in lost mode if someone goes near the cat it will report the location to you.

Currently the time required for beep on separation is 3 days, but it may be changed later by Apple. So your cat would have to be lost for three days or more before it beeps.
