Hard to use snooze feature with alarm

Why does the alarm in iOS 14 require you to touch and hold when it sounds if you want it to snooze vs just turning off if you tap it lightly? Seems backwards to me. If you are half asleep when it sounds, it should be EASY to make it snooze (tap lightly) and harder to turn it off (touch and hold). I have always used snooze feature on clocks and then on iPhones. Until you changed how it works I was happy with using iPhone. Now I may have to go back to my plug-in alarm clock!

I have an XS max n 14.4.2, hitting the snooze or turning off the alarm couldn't be any easier, just either tap snooze or stop at the bottom.

I can’t get my alarm to show full screen like it used to. Now it only shows a banner at the top of the screen and no obvious option to snooze. Is there a setting I can use to change it back to full screen?

so I just did a test, set an alarm and kept my phone unlock got a banner - wiped down on the banner and had the option to snooze or stop.

When my phone is locked I get the full screen.
