I did the above transfer and my phone works for text and calls. However all of my apps say they are loading since yesterday.
I transferred my phone. The text and phone now works but the app's are in pending mode since yesterday.

Apps do not get transferred, never. Only the App data and the link to the App Store gets transferred. All apps will download automatically, stay connected to the internet preferably over WiFi. You may continue to use the iPhone.
