I migrated my photos from my MacBook Pro to my MacBook Air, thinking the Pro photos would be added to the Air photos in iPhoto. But instead it appears the Pro photos replaced the Air photos. I can't see my older Air photos anywhere.

You have probably transferred the pro library to the air library so now you have two libraries on the air, and will need to open the library with the photos you want.


With photos closed, hold down the option key while starting photos, and you will get the library chooser pane. Both libraries should be listed there.
