The only way to regain access to those notes is to remember the password you used to encrypt them in the first place.

Changing the password as you're doing only changes the password for future notes. It does not change the password for existing notes.

Then you "realllyyyyy line realllyyy" need to think hard and remember what the password you used is, because that is the only way you're ever going to be able to read those notes.
