Can't update Pages

I have Mojave on my MacBook Air and version 8.1 of Pages. I want to update Pages, but the App Store tells me I have no updates (except Catalina). I have gotten messages periodically that there was a new update, but it was never the right time.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

You'll have to update macOS if you want a newer version of the iWork suite. If you cannot do that then you can use the online version in iCloud by logging into iCloud.com.
