How can make my iMovie export file smaller?

Using iMovie ver 10.2.3 I made a 5 minute video. Some of it has moving video, and most of it has still pictures.

Still, when I export it, I still come up with something around 50MB. I find that a little outlandish. I've downloaded much longer videos that are just fine quality wise...and barely break the 3MB barrier.

Surely someone has come across this and found a solution?

Thank you

Export to email. You will be given export size choices. Then drag the movie out ot the email to your desk top.

However, 50mb is a totally reasonable size for a 5 minute video. Kind of small, actually. If you want to preserve quality, leave it alone.
