Iphone needs connection to iTunes, but can't connect

The issue is that my iPhone is asking me to connect to iTunes, but when I connect to iTunes it won't recognize it. Seems like my iPhone is ''locked out''

Any help out there?

iPhone SE, iOS 14

In addition to what Lyssa has shared. The phone most be updated and so does iTunes.

there are cases whereas the iPhone could no longer be updated to the latest iOS, as a result... hindering your iPhone from communicating with iTunes.
