Unpair Apple Watch from nonexistent iPhone

My mom gave me her Apple Watch because she no longer has an iPhone so she doesn’t need it. But she didn’t unpair the watch from her phone before she switched to a Samsung. I can’t figure out how to unpair the watch. Even when she goes into her iCloud it doesn’t show the watch as one of her devices, but the watch is definitely still set up in her information and it won’t let me switch it to my iPhone until it’s unpaired. Thank you!

If this doesn't work;

On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

Go to Find Iphone.

Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase Apple Watch.

Select Next until the device is erased.

Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.

Then;

Request Online Activation Lock Removal.

Or this;

If you can't remember/gain access to the apple id that paired the watch to the

phone.Take the watch and it's receipt along with some photo id and any other

proof of ownership to an Apple Store and request that they remove the

Activation Lock for you.

Otherwise the watch will be of no use to you.
