battery drain on apple watch series 4

Since updating my series 4 watch, the battery drain is much faster. Before the last two OS (currently have 7.3.3 installed) versions I was able to go about 30 hours on a charge. Now, after fully charged it will only last 18-20 hours. I haven't added any apps and have the watch in conservation mode where I can. There hasn't been any damage or water intrusion. I have done all the recommended actions of resetting, un-pairing and re-pairing, etc. to see if there was a software hang-up somewhere. No luck. I'm at a loss. Any rumor of a software issue that is causing this?

Thanks for that information...I have not come across that in my research on the topic. My guess is that the time for recalibration of the battery after an OS update depends on the update itself. Is there a typical timeframe that is expected for calibration to take place?

Apple says that with average use the watch should last 18 hours between charges.

After any update the battery needs to recalibrate itself and it takes time to reach it's operating peak.
