My Apple Watch will not connect to the Internet and set up

My Apple Watch says that cannot check for the update because it’s not connected to the Internet can you please help?

Try getting a true Wifi connection on your iPhone. You seem to be paired by "wedding ring" with another device, perhaps over bluetooth even. Regular Wifi would be a safer bet. Make sure you are signed in to iCloud as well. Hope that helps
