Cannot run Yamaha USB Midi Driver on Macbook (M1 chip, Bigsur 11.2.3)

Hi all,

I've installed Yamaha USB MIDI Driver (version 1.3.2 https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/usb_midi_driver_for_mac.html). But after that i can't access this driver in system Preferences menu.

Please show me how to make it work.

It does show up under USB devices but not in audio-midi-setup. Do I need a driver? I found an old driver called «UnitorMIDIDriver» but my M1 macbook Pro said, it's not necessary to install it. When I plug in the interface, the USB-LED flashes twice but then only «Patch» LED stays on. It also flashes MIDI-LED's as long as I play on the connected keyboard. Any ideas how I can get it to work with garage band or logic pro?

Yamaha Midi driver with Macbook M1 (Apple Silicon) - Midi interface OK, Not recognizing Audio interface Hi, I've always used my Synth/Keyboard Yamaha MOX8 with Windows and I've never had problems to the Driver recognize the audio and/or midi interface. The Synth has internal audio interface. I just bought a MacBook with an M1 chip (Apple Silicon) and it's on macOS Monterey 12.4. I installed the latest version available from the Yamaha website: 1) Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V3.1.1 for Mac macOS 11/12(Intel/Apple silicon with Rosetta 2). https://br.yamaha.com/pt/support/updates/yamaha_steinberg_usb_driver_for_mac.html 2) USB-MIDI Driver V1.5.0 for Mac macOS 12, 11 (Intel/Apple silicon with Rosetta 2) https://br.yamaha.com/pt/support/updates/usb_midi_driver_for_mac.html When trying to use it with the keyboard, the MacBook is recognizing the midi interface (I can see it in the "Midi Studio" screen, but it does not recognize the audio interface, that means, I am able to control VST, exchange midi signals, but neither the operating system nor the DAW is recognizing the audio interface. Note 1: I already tested using the original keyboard cable + USB HUB, as well as I bought a new USB-B to USB-C cable, connecting directly to the Macbook and the result was the same. There was no difference. Note 2: In the installation guide of item 2, ask to confirm that the installation was successful if we have files in the folder: /Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/YAMAHA-USBMIDIDriver.plugin /Library/PreferencePanes/MIDI Drivers/YAMAHA-USBMIDIPatch.prefPane I checked and besides the installation report as successfully finished, the files are not in the folder.

Unable to Yamaha PSR E413 as a MIDI controller to Garage Band in Mac Book Pro M1 running Big Sur 11 I used to use a 2016 MacBook Pro and I ran my Yamaha PSR E413 into it through usb and was able to use it as a midi controller in Garage Band. I just got the new 2020 MacBook M1 running Big Sur and I can no longer figure out how to use my Yamaha PSR E413 as a midi controller in Garage Band. I installed the USB MIDI driver from https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/usb_midi_driver_for_mac.html and restarted the computer. But it just don't work. Looks like we will need a version for M1 chips. The current version of the software is compatible with macOS 10.15.x-10.5..x Has anyone else run into the problem of not being able to use their keyboard as a midi controller on the new Mac/macOS? Can anyone suggest any other MIDI Keyboards that will be compatible with new Mac Book Pro M1 Silicon Chips with Mac OS Big Sur 11.3. Need urgent help and suggestion.

I have a Yamaha Portable Grand DGX 520 and I cannot find any solution about the "YAMAHA USB MIDI DRIVER" to be compatible with my MacBook Pro M1

I checked the Yamaha website today - a new version compatible with Apple Silicon (using Rosetta 2) is now available! It works with my PSR S910.

their site says

Now supports macOS 10.15 and 10.14.

I would contact yamaha to inquire if they plan on supporting big sur in a later driver

and if the driver would both support x86 and arm cpus

I just downloaded this driver and I can see the silent piano (SC2) there, but I don't know what else I need to do to see or transfer midi files.
