I am trying to retrieve accidentally deleted mail from Time Machine. I can enter Time Machine, but cannot see where to find the ail to retrieve it. I read some help pages that said to open Time Machine from Mail - but I can't do that - when I enter Time Machine it only shows me the Time Machine page and dates on left side bar?

Do you realize that TM no longer works as before with email. You cannot scroll back in time and find an old email as before. This started with Catalina and continues with Big Sur. Issue been reported many times to Apple.
That would explain why it was so tricky. I think it was more by chance than anything else that I managed to retrieve the emails. I don't think I would know how I managed it if I went back in and tried to do it again. I hope this is something that will be addressed though.
