You need to enter a pre-set code. You cannot do anything until you enter this password that it is prompting you for.

Here is what Apple says "If you can't remember your firmware password, schedule an in-person service appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Bring your Mac to the appointment, and bring your original receipt or invoice as proof of purchase."

Apple Documentation: What is a firmware password on Mac? - Apple Support and Set a firmware password on your Mac - Apple Support.

If you cannot remember the code, my best advice to give you is to contact Apple Support directly using this link: https://www.apple.com/contact/.

Cheers,

Jack
