What does mean a question mark on a folder in Finder's side bar

Hello folks, I have no idea how or why, but all of sudden there was a folder with a question mark in my Finder's side bar. When I click on it comes a message saying folder can't be opened as an item is missing.

Except for that, my iMac seems to working properly.

What does that mean and how to get a rid of such folder?

Thanks Paulo

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.15

Hold down the command key and drag it out of the sidebar.

The command isn’t normally necessary to remove items, but in this case it prevents the error message when you select it to drag out.

At some stage you have selected to show a folder in the Sidebar,

You have either moved the folder from its original location or deleted it.

The Sidebar now cannot see this folder so shows you the generic file icon with a question mark.

The error message says it all really.
