imac sign in

I have a imac and trying to sign in with my password. I can only add 4 of the 7 letters- for some reason, the keyboard doesn't let me add more than 4 letters. Anyone have this issue? Not sure how to fix it.

Try resetting the NVRAM and restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally and test. If the problem continues, try a wired keyboard or another wired keyboard.
