i need to permanently remove a device off my icloud
i lost my phone recently and i'm trying to get into my icloud but my old phone is linked to it and I can't access it if it's still logged in

Where to Go from Here:
I. Start Here:
- iCloud - Find My - Apple. Using Find My: If there is no power to it, then it will not show up on Find My.
- Locate a Lost or Stolen Device - Apple Support
II. Getting this Back:
- Backtrack your Locations:
If at a coffee shop, stop in, and ask it if was placed aside.
- Ask Others:
Check with others you know (i.e. friends, family members, co-workers, peers, and neighbors)
III. Looking Elsewhere:
Based on Prior Experience: Look under the pillow or on the desk. It might be sitting in there. I thought I lost mine, but, they were in the palm of my hand.
IV. Being Lost, Modify your Credentials:
- Modify: your login credentials (Using Both a New eMail and a New Passwordfor each and all sites)
- Associate: a different method of payment to your account
- Enable: Two-Factor Authentication for Apple ID and for all other accounts that have such an applicable option
