how to open old versions of numbers

How to open old documents in Numbers on a MacBook Air? I have updated Numbers on my iPhone, and opened the old document on the phone - after that I can´t open the document on the Mac anymore.

MacBook Air 13″, OS X 10.10

Can't you update Numbers on your Mac? That would be the best option.

If you can't do that, then on iOS you could try exporting as Excel and then opening that from Numbers on the Mac.

Or you could try downloading from Numbers for iCloud.

You will lose formatting but at least will get your data and calculations back.
