iphone 12

i like to charge my phone while working on my HP laptop. It was working fine until 2 days ago. Keep getting the "allow this device to access photos and videos" message. I did a laptop software update but i am not sure if that is the cause

You can try the following-

Reboot the iPhone and the HP Laptop - see whether that resolves the issue
Try a different cable and see if the issue persists
Use the same cable with a wall charger. If the iPhone charges then we know the issue resides in the Laptop
Try charging the iPhone with another Windows based Laptop.
