Can the IWatch 1 be updated without being paired ever to an iPhone

How can I install and update on IWatch series 1 without it being paired to my phone. It reset itself somehow and now I can’t get it connected to the internet

Updating iwatch 7 New Iwatch 7 won’t pair due to needing to be updated. Please advise

To update a watch it has to be paired first.
