M1 MacBook Pro Freezing

Hi,

My M1 MacBook Pro freezes when moving files from one location to another. When I move a file from my Desktop to a folder in my Documents, finder freezes and loads but the file won't actually move. After a few tries the folder/file will move but that is with the freezing that comes with it.

I have deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist and restarted my mac but I still get the same issue.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

Does this happen even when booted into Safe Mode. Restart and right away hold Shift key. It does a repair Disk, clears cache files and only loads Apple Software and Fonts. Test and allow it to run in this mode for about 20 minutes and restart in Normal Mode and test again.

Great - MalwareBytes is harmless and written by long time Contributor to these Forums. Other AV are an invitation to disaster.

As for Finder freezing - if not Returning under 14 Day Return Policy - Perhaps Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac

Have ask, any antivirus software installed or was Migration Assist used at initial setup? If no to both and still under the 14 Day Return Policy - Return and do not waste time figuring what the problem is
