What is your model Apple TV? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support
You will need some sort of remote.
- You can use the software remote in Control Center on an iOS device, but you may have to set that up using an already functional remote, depending on model Apple TV.
- You can use a universal IR remote of your choosing, but you have to set that up using an already functional remote.
The best would be to get a replacement remote, imho.
