Apple Watch fall detection

1)Does the fall detection feature require the cellular watch? or will it work without the cellular connection?

2) Do all the watches have the capability for the cellular connection?

THanks

Only the GPS+Cellular model has actual cellular capabilities. The GPS only version can make phone calls through its paired iPhone with caveats.

Fall detection is available on both the GPS only and the GPS+Cellular versions of the Watch with caveats for the GPS only version.

M1 Mac mini, macOS 11.2.1; Watch, series 5 GPS/cellular, watchOS 7.3.1; iPad Pro 2nd Gen, iPadOS 14.4; iPad Air 2, iPadOS 14.4; iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14.4; TV 4th Gen, tvOS 14.;  HomePods, audioOS 14.4 and Airport Express w/ Airplay 2
