AirPods will only hold a charge for roughly 30 minutes

I have 1st gen air pods. They're in great condition but over the past 6 month or so, I've noticed they will only hold a charge for roughly 30 minutes. The ports are clean. Both the case and ear pieces are fully charged. What is going on??
