System preferences

Hello, I am trying to unlock my system preferences on users and groups, but I have no idea what my username and password is. I have tried every login I can think of, but it still will not log me in. Can anyone help?

The password it is asking for is your administration password for your Mac. The one you might get prompted for when you restart your Mac or try and install a new application.

If you still do not know what your password is - it can be reset in a number of ways. Check out this article from Apple to see if anything on it helps - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202860
