Itunes shows that I have 3.67gb free space on my ipod touch but if I try to sync any more songs, it says the device is full. I did a 'erase all content and settings' of the device to clear but still have the issue. Not sure what the problem is.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you want to sync content to your iPod, but you get a message that it is full. It may be that you are trying to sync more content than what can fit on the iPod. Try syncing less content at once, like one album and see if this issue continues.

This is the issue. Itunes doesn't recognize the amount of space taken up by the OS. Is there a way of fixing this? I have deleted all apps and non music data that I can.

Thanks for reaching back out. How much content are you trying to sync to your iPhone? Are you able to sync just one song to your iPhone, or does it give the same error? Are you trying to sync any other content as well, like photos or videos?

Thanks for getting back to me. Eventually even syncing one song is denied due to lack of storage. If I go to the storage settings on the ipod it says the OS is using over 5gb and that it is full. For some reason iTunes doesn't recognize the amount of space used by the OS and thinks it has more storage available.
The problem is that itunes still says I have almost 4GB free but if I select more music and press sync, it says there is not enough space
