can i install catalina on my new mac mini

Can i install Catalina on a newly purchased Intel Mac mini? It's on its way, but comes with Big Sur installed. I bought it for my Pro Tools rig and Big Sur isn't supported by Pro Tools yet and I can't wait for that to happen. Since it's new, there are no time machine backups to revert to. How can I wipe my new Intel mini and install Catalina so I can use Pro Tools? Is it possible?

The 2018 Intel Mac mini originally shipped with Mojave 10.14 so in theory you may be able to downgrade. You would have to create a Catalina USB Bootable Installer, boot from it, erase the mini, then install Catalina. That's in theory.
