Cannot connect Itunes from PC to Iphone 12

I have ITunes installed on my PC which will not sync with my new Iphone 12 using the new cable that came with the phone?

I receive the message "ITunes cannot read the contents of the IPhone" and asking to reset to factory settings.

I believe this is a common issue, but I am yet to find a suitable solution.

Thanks for any help offered.

Try If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support.

thank you ive been through this advice but am still facing the same issue?

I no longer recieve the message "ITunes cannot read the contents of the IPhone" but am still having the issue of my iphone not showing up on ITunes on my PC
