Delete iCloud photo from PC but keep on cloud

I would like to delete iCloud photos from my PC as they are taking up all my disk space, but still keep them stored on the cloud. I have de-linked the Photos (unticked the small box), on the iCloud app, but they are still stored on my PC. How can I remove them from my disk space, while not loosing my photos on the cloud?

Hi there heidi919,

We understand you'd like to delete your iCloud Photos from your computer after disabling the feature, and we'd like to see if we can assist.

If you no longer sync your computer with iCloud Photos, you can delete the pictures without worrying about it impacting the data in iCloud.

To confirm, you can start by deleting a few photos on your computer and then head to the iCloud website and confirm the photos still show there as expected.

heidi919,

Great follow-up question!

Deleting content from iCloud Photos should immediately update the content on other devices with the feature enabled while connected to the internet.

With that in mind, if you disable iCloud Photos on your computer, then delete the photos locally, you can check the iCloud website right away to check that the content shows there.

We hope this helps.
