Why won't my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) complete the download/installation of the update suggested for my Mac? I.E., macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 ?

One reason may be you need 35.5GBs of free space on your drive.
Can think of 5 reasons off the top of my head 1- as @Dialabrin mentioned Empty Space, 2 - poor or slow internet connection 3 - Apple Servers at too busy, 4- third part software interfering with the installation 5- Router / Network issues and maybe a few more if pushed.
Was there a Error Messages displayed and if so what did it say ? With out any addition info - it is a crap shoot.
