Family shared iCloud storage not available for iCloud photos
Recently joined a family and am having issues with my photos app not recognizing the newly available storage.

Recently joined a family and am having issues with my photos app not recognizing the newly available storage.

Your iPhone may still be associated with your iCloud account that you had before you joined Family Sharing. To change to the Family Sharing iCloud plan, open Settings ➔ Apple (Your Name at Top) ➔ iCloud ➔ Manage Storage ➔ Change Storage Plan : At this point you will see the Family Storage iCloud available for you to choose.

Thanks. The storage option was chosen however the photos app was still reporting not enough storage. Apparently it took either some time or an iCloud backup as now the photos are able to upload.
