“rastertosec” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software- how to solve?

I keep getting the messages below when trying to print a document from word. I have restarted the computer, tried opening in PDF to print from there, and there is just no way of getting the computer to print.


“BasicOptionPDE.bundle” is damaged and can’t be opened.

“rastertosec” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.


I'm not that tech savvy so would appreciate any help you can give

It sounds like you are experiencing some issues printing from your Mac. We can help with this.


If you haven't already, we'd recommend starting with the steps listed here: Solve printing problems on Mac


We'd also recommend checking with the printer manufacturer to find out if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.


If you continue to experience issues, you might need to delete the printer and add it back again. You can find out more information about adding a printer to your Mac here: Add a printer on Mac
