I am getting this error. Two of the disks to back up have the same name. Rename one of the disks named “Macintosh HD - Data”. But I do not have two disks with the same name. I just bought a new iMac and I am using Big Sur. My old one had been using High Sierra, and I migrated the data.

Please go to Disk Utility (Finder > Go > Utilities > Disk Utility), and then in Disk Utility, "View" > "Show All Devices".

Under Finder all I see is one Macintosh-HD Data drive when I do a get info I figured out by the purgeable of 578.83 that would be the /Volumes/Macintosh HD - Data drive the other drive does not show up so I would not be able to know if there is any data that has not been backed up or not
Delete the last one, by selecting it and hitting the “-“ sign in the toolbar. Make sure all, if any, data is backed up off that drive first.
@Jack, I also have the same error But mine was an upgrade from Mojave to Big Sur I have attached a screenshot of my disk utiltity
Here is a screenshot showing the info of the other HD - Data disk. The main question that I have is why did it create two Data directories one in /volumes and one in /System/Volumes ?
I take it that the one you are talking about is /volumes/macintosh hd -data right?
The one that does not have the “home” icon on the hard drive.

The one that has the Home icon is /System/Volumes/Data which does not show up with Finder
That is correct. The one with the home folder icon shows up in Finder as one Macintosh HD.
