MacPro 1.1 monitor dead

My MacPro 1,1 monitor is not showing a light, even though the MacPro shows all signs of booting up. Is the monitor dead, or is some part of the system not telling it to ‘come alive.?’

You likely abandoned thew 7300 when it failed years ago.

In some cases, only ONE output of a multi-output card fails, and the other(s) are okay.

a pretty good replacement graphics card (requires 10.6.5 or later) can be had on US eBay for under $75, a minimal card for under US$50.

Thanks Grant. You’ve probably noted I wrongly put up two entries on this which you answered . . . I’ll stick to this one.

So far as I’m aware, the original card is in working order; I saw in the description that both were alive only a couple of days ago, also, I thought that, as I could read both their descriptions as present they should be okay?

it’s late now where I am and shut-eye time. I’’ll call back in tomorrow.
