Mac Won't Start Up

My iMac has been shutting down randomly. I tried to start and run in safe mode and it seemed to work for a few days. So I restarted it and it was updating software, now it will not start at all. Any suggestions on what to do. There are no Genius Bar reservations or dealers to bring it to in the San Antonio or Austin Area.

Nothing. It is just black screen off and won't turn on.
