My iMac can't sign in to iCloud or AppleID. I can sign in if I open a browser, but from the system preferences it won't. When I try I get a verification failed. When going through the App store and it asks for the log in it can't verify again. I know it's the correct user and password, I'm logged in on the browser with it now.

Are you successfully getting a verification code to other devices?
Then something might be wrong/corrupt with your user account. I would suggest making a new user account for daily use. However, you would have to transfer over your files, of course.
Can you confirm what macOS version you are running? (Apple menu (top left corner) > About this Mac.

Yes, when I first logged in using Safari, I was sent the verification code to my cell and it worked. When I pull up iCloud under System Preferences and try to log in, it never sends or asks for a verification number.
Resetting PRAM and SMC didn't help. I set up a new Admin account and was able to sign into iCloud on that account, however I still can't log into iCloud on the original Admin account. Again, thanks, Jack for the help.

Well at least it'll back up to iCloud then. Thanks for all the help.
Just know that by default, files will not be stored in iCloud. You have to manually drag them to iCloud in the Finder.
