does apple call landline with "your apple i cloud has been breached. call us back at ***8257" is this a legit phone number for apple? should i call this number?

That is correct. It's a scam. Apple will absolutely never call you out of the blue for any reason.

If you have not given your passwords to anyone, then you are fine, It's a scam call.
Other than ignoring the call, there's not much else you need to do.
i called that number and a recorded woman's voice english accent said it was a fraud number, phishing attempt and disregard...
they keep calling! (call number 4) i pressed 2 to talk to an "apple representative" a voice from the exotic east said "how may i help you" i said "i contacted apple and they assured me this was a scam so please stop calling this number!"
