Apple TV HD

My Apple TV is about 4 years old. Recently, (every 3-6 months) the light starts flashing and it won't respond to the remote(won't turn on). I have not tracked it, but it could be happening when updates to the iPad, iPhone, etc. occur.

My fix has been to unplug, let it sit and replug in about 5 minutes to reboot.

This time nothing works....The light flashes but no response.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Or...should I just buy the latest model and move on?

You can restore the software on your Apple TV HD through a computer, and that should make it functional again.

Upgrading is Wise:

Yes. For me, I would use this as the chance to just buy the latest model up, and move on.
