iMovie green screen feature keeps turning my subject purple??

Okay so I am really struggling with changing my background in iMovie. My subject was in front of a green screen, and when I click the "Green/Blue screen" under Overlay Settings- it not only takes away the background but turns the subjects eyes purple and there's a horrible tint. Her eyes are blue and I'm thinking the lighting may have made the background look blue too while filming??

Is there any way I can mask the subject? I'll attach photos to try and show the before and after.

before^^

after^^

I also tried different images and even solid colors but still the same results. I'd appreciate any help!

To cover the bases, review this help link that explains how to use the green screen feature.

Then delete preferences and see if that improves the green screen performance. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects.  Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.

To rule out an issue that might be confined to just this specific project, try the screen screen in a newly created project.

Hi Rich, thank you for your response!

I did as you advised and deleted the preferences. I tried using the video in a new project, an old project, ect.- no luck :/

I even went ahead and used a different clip with a green screen and iMovie had no issue with it, leading me to believe my video is the problem. I've used this feature so many times so I am not sure what is wrong with my video.

Thanks!
