how can i tell what kind of ipad mini i have

is there any way i find out what ipad mini i have? in other words a ipad mini 2 or ipad mini 4 ?

Not sure which iPad you have? Identify your iPad model.

You can find your model number here:

Settings > General > About

You could check it at Apple's Check Your Service and Support Coverage web page. If it is out of the warranty period it will still give you some details of the unit.
