To restore your MacBook Pro to factory settings (and erase all data), you'll need to do the following:
At this point, you'll need to erase and reinstall macOS. The below steps should be safe, regardless if your Mac has the Apple M1 chip or an Intel processor.

well before I do that perhaps I should be more specific. The issues that I would like to solve are:
1) at startup a bright rainbow screensaver appears that I would like to change;
2) the Touch ID does not work / recognize my fingerprint
