USB ports

My new 2020 model MacBook Air does not have a USB port (to support thumb drives). Is there an adapter for this?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.12

I have also found third party ones that have multiple sockets.

By the way it does have a USB port but it is a new USB-C port, not the old kind with the rectangular opening. The new kind is faster, can support other kinds of devices such as displays, and provides more power.
